The Art of School

So I'm writing this blog post in commemoration of my first day back from spring break, not like there is anything exciting in that. I really just hate having to go back to day in and out of mindless tasks, and work that will never get done. Anyway it seems like every time we come back to school after the break I immediately start counting down the days until the next break. By the way summer break is 10 weeks away (counting down the days). So to help you get through the rough stretch know as the spring quarter here are some ways I stay sane during the school year.

1. Stay Calm

No matter what happens freaking out only makes things worse. You put of that 10 page history paper off until the night before, don't sweat it. Take deep breaths and calm down. When you are worried and stressed, it only makes the situation worse because you are making things to seem harder than they are. Yeah it wasn't a smart idea to wait for the night before, but hey that's life. Listen to some chill music, drink a nice hot cup of tea, and get down to business.

     2.  Do Something you Like

Most of the time when we have tons of homework, and extracurricular on our schedules, we forget to set aside much needed relaxation time for ourselves. So please, make time for you because you are important! Even if it's just short little moments were you listen to your favorite song and jam out, any time where you are doing something you enjoy helps you wind down from the hectic and activity filled days. So blog, write, read, paint, anything relaxing to you, or do anything that would release stress

   3. Socialize

I can not stress how important it is to make sure you have a social life. I'm not saying that you have to go ragging keggers every weekend, but a nice shopping day with your friends, or even just vegging out at home watching tv shows and ranting. Having someone you trust to talk to and hang with is a necessity of high school, and life in general. Friends are people that are always there for you, and chances are they are going through the same thing as so you can just have hour long vent sessions about what you are going through at school, or life in general. Set a date to hang out with best friends.

   4. Have Fun

The main purpose of high school is to prepare you for college, but it's also supposed to be a learning experience. It's not a torture chamber, it's supposed to help us learn and grow as people, so make the most of it! Go join clubs, student councils, go to the dances, do whatever you can to be involved in those 4 years. You want to be able to look back at high school, and reminisce on the great times you had. So go out and have fun!

So these are 4 key things that I think are key to mastering the art of school

These are my Confessions

So it has been an eternity since I have last written, but a lot has happened. I finally finished my first year of high school, and it was not as bad as I had expected it to be. Frankly, it was a lot more boring than I expected. This summer though is ten times better than what I ever imagined it would be.  This was truly my summer of firsts. I'm not going into gushy details about my summer, because no one has time for that, but the highlights of my summer where: going to camp and meeting a ton of really awesome people, and working at my school's summer program, which was a blast and I got to meet a ton of really amazing and talented kids. Overall this summer was kind of a blur, and now that it is coming to a close I'm very sad to see it go, even though I've been bumming around my house these past few weeks.  I could keep rambling about all the great things I have planned for next year but I'd like to surprise people. I hope everyone has a great rest of their summer, or great beginning of their school year.

Valentines Day

So Valentines day is coming up soon, and just like every other year the only valentine I have are my parents, and my friends who always have those really corny and awfully pun filled cards from the store. I feel like valentines day is a pointless holiday unless you are married, have a boyfriend, or some other form of companionship. Like all the other lonely kids out their I personally am only in it for the candy. This holiday is really meant to spend time with someone and show love and appreciation, and  really is just a semi pointless holiday. Now don't get me wrong I love Valentine's day, my parents and my sisters always get me a really good book, a stuffed animal, and chocolate my favorite things ever, but it just always makes me feel lonely for some reason but I mean it could just be those stupid teenage hormones.

Old Habits Die Hard

So I know I really have fallen off with my blogging, and I can't even think of a good excuse. So i'm sorry. On the bright side, I have started high school, and it's pretty demanding. I really like it, but sometimes I miss having some free-time. So this post is basically me just apologizing, and I have hollowed out a little time in my week to try and post more often. Haute Nails

Hey there blog world! Have you ever felt that your nails were very bland and boring? Cause I feel like that a lot. So I attached a link for DIY Ombre Nails (click there). This looks really cute, but I was really stupid and I thought Hey why don't I try it with red and orange. I was out of my mind when I thought that. The Never Ending Heat

Hey there blog world! So I took a little leave of absence from my blog to finish up the school year and just get use to you know life. But i'm back now, and hopefully i'll  be back for good. So any way it has been scorching hot here in Chicago for the past like week and a half. So majority of my family has stayed in the house. But the times I did go out I went out in style, but of course since i'm in the midst of changing phones I didn't snap a picture. But that is soon to change, since I am getting a HTC Rhyme and can't wait to get it. But since I ran out of things to say i'm going to end with a poem I really like.

Hazy Days

Hey world! As the countdown of the last days of school, and my middle school life, I have been in a really sentimental mode, and I truly am going to miss middle school. Those were some really fun, exciting, heartbreaking, and emotional 4 years, and I can't wait for graduation. I still have not found a graduation dress and I am upset about that. We can't get the one I wanted because it needs to be ordered and I have to try it on but since we waited for so long I just have to buy it. I really hope I find a good one. More to come later

LBD

Hey so I know that I have been off with these LBD's but I'm back. So here is the new dress I bought in D.C. at Target. I was supposed to wear it to my sisters second graduation service but since we didn't go I didn't have to sit in the boiling sun, and we went out to a nice breakfast as a family.

The Breakdown:
Okay, so the sweater and purse are from this thrift store by my house. The dress is from a Target in like D.C/ Maryland. The shoes are from Payless. The earrings, necklace, and beanie are from Forever 21.
I used my sister's makeup pallet from Nordstrom's on my eyes. My lipstick is pink with a pink sparkle lip gloss over it.

Graduation S.V.U Style

Hey! So i'm back from all my days of traveling. Ugh! I'm still looking for all the stuff I brought and sorta of living out of bags, but I am so happy that I got to see my older sister graduate from college. But i'm even more excited for my graduation(sorry sissy)!!! I've been dress shopping for weeks and found a very pretty vintage dress that I really want and am currently looking for shoes and the perfect hair do and accessories! If any one has ideas leave a comment. I really pumped for all the fun graduation parties my friends are gonna be throwing! It's gonna be a fun filled next few weeks. I recently have been loving this show Law and Order Special Victims Unit. It is the BEST show ever! I can never get enough of this show. Tell me your favorite crime show in the comments below.

Homeward Bound

Hey there Blogosphere! I just returned home from my 8th grade class trip to Washington D.C. It was so much fun. We did a lot of sight seeing and went to a bunch of memorials. It was really cool and I wish we could have been there longer. My hotel group was really awesome to! I got put with 3 of my closest friends, and we did a ton of crazy things! We stayed up until 3 in the morning the first night, and one night we got really bored and hyper and my friends threw a banana at the wall and I had to clean it up. We did a lot of crazy antics. It was such and awesome fun filled 4 days.

The One thing

Hey Guys! Sorry that I have not been posting in a while but I have been super swamped with all sorts of end of the year homework and projects! I'm especially pumped that I will be going to D.C. next week as our 8th grade class trip (pictures to come). But that is not what i'm here to talk about. You ever have that one guy you REALLY like, and i'm talking LIKE LIKE, and your pretty sure they like you back but is scared to take the first move?  I had that situation and boy did it not turn out well. So I told him I like him over chat right, and he was all like he doesn't do dating anymore. I feel like such a fool. It's always that one thing that makes your whole day turn sour.

Spring Break Blues

My Birthday!

Sorry bloggers that I have not been posting in a while. School has been really hectic, and i've been swamped with stuff to do. But now i'm back and i'll be posting a lot during Spring Break. So guess what today is? MY BIRTHDAY! My parents are taking me shopping as one of my birthday gifts and I am super pumped. My older sister came back from college, and I get to see my big brother. Valentines Day

Happy Valentines day! I hope your day was awesome guys! Mine was. I spent all of the night before making Valentines for my close friends, and I bought a jumbo size bag of Jolly Ranchers! It was really fun, my favorite part is when you get to school and everybody else brought candy and you get to swap. I wore a special Valentines day outfit, but I was to lazy to take pictures. Whitney Houston and Don Cornelius

Today a very important person in the Music community was lost. Whitney Houston at age 48 died. We have lost a great person in the world of music. Another person that we have recently lost is Don Cornelius, the creator of the famous show Soul Train. One of my favorite quotes was from him saying

Peace, love, and soul.

Rest in peace Whitney Houston and Don Cornelius.

Red Tails

Okay so I know I fell of in my blogging, but that was because I had so much school work and I was sick, BUT NOW I'M BACK! Okay somewhat recently I went to see that new movie Red Tails about the Tuskegee Airmen, and it was THE GREATEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!! I just love the cast of the movie it has the most attractive cast of guys EVER! Okay so my secret celebrity crush is Nate Parker. I love him so mush! All About the Hair

Since I have recently have stumbled upon an abundance of hair photos from my sister, I'm starting a new Hair section of my blog! This is where you can send me pictures of your rockin' do, and maybe a little something that describes it and i'll post is so that the entire world can see just how special and unique your hair is!
